What separates eastern Montana whitetail and mule deer hunting operations is the exclusivity and access to private land in areas that hold trophy quality animals. Swan Safaris is privileged to have under lease thousands of acres of private land available for our Montana hunting trips. This allows us to selectively hunt thereby offering amble deer and antelope populations and choices for all of our hunters. We purposely take only limited numbers of deer each year from each of our lease holds to ensure top quality deer. This is not a high fence game ranch. Our territory includes thousands of square miles of open grass and prairie land. We have exclusivity and no other outfitter has been in this area. The beauty of plains hunting is it is quite a bit easier than mountain and forest hunting. Hunters see dozens even hundreds of deer, upland game birds and antelope each day.
Types of Montana Hunting Trips
Swan Safaris offers many different types of hunts: prairie dog hunts; whitetail deer hunts; mule deer hunts; antelope or pronghorn hunts; upland game birds; including sharp tail grouse, wild pheasant and Hungarian partridge, and; waterfowl hunts.
Because we have exclusive access on many of our leases, hunters enjoy a quiet, non-competitive hunting experience. We access the ranches and farm land via truck or ATVs and close the distance walking to our vantage points. These hunts are shorter in duration as we do not need more than 4 days to get you your animal. These hunts are perfect for first time hunters, hunting parties and particularly families. Swan Safaris lease locations for our Montana hunting trips are concentrated in the northeastern plains and grasslands of Montana. We have options north of the town of Havre and all along the infamous “Hi-line.” Just an hour and half drive from Great Falls, hunters access some of the more remote untrammeled land available in the north central portion of Montana. Most of our leases contain the only water for miles which brings in and holds a heavy concentration of whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope and upland game birds. Several of our locations are in the Milk River basin near the border of Canada and stretching for hundreds of miles.
